Well yes, this is the kind of situation that woud have all the people up in arms had the genders been reversed But also adventurers have a very rough understanding of things, like the "curse" they mentioned before as their way to understand trauma, when things get hard people get better on their own, or you do something drastic to get them moving, thats why the party just rolled with it In Elinalize's case, she is older and very experienced with people, she is the one more often giving advice about relationships and she is very self aware, thats why she wanted to intervene and get the parts to fit

Honestly, the LN justifications and how it plays out would piss you off more. This was the best way to do this. Rudy and Roxy are scumbags, and they gotta own it.

I gotta say, I have enjoyed your reactions to this show. From the beginning you have been kinda uncomfortable with some topics shown, for good reason. I wish the context of the LN was added in about how Roxy came up with the idea to sleep with Rudy. It wasn't originally her idea. You don't have to agree with it, and I don't either, but understanding makes it a bit easier to swallow. Still a bitter pill to be sure but a little easier to swallow. As for the Man God stuff, as a LN reader, Eff that guy and the BS he slithered in on. Wait till TP4.

It's fine to not see eye to eye with Roxy but from her point of view: 1. She loves Rudy 2. She is not worshipper of Millis (having multiple lovers is fine) 3. Rudy was so down that only quick "fix" would be to sleep with him. Seeing Rudy in that state was painful to Roxy. 4. Others suggested it (although this scene was not shown in anime)

Best take. Rudy wouldnt have cheated on sylphi if it wasnt for his father dieing. At no point did he sexualize Roxy since they remet. Roxy lowkey finds an "EXCUSE" to "acceptably" move on a married man in front of his friends while he is in mourning, alone, and lost. She did a bad thing and just cuz its working out doesnt make it acceptable. Do still love roxy but this was low

I dont agree with a single thing she said lmao i think she's being a little too narrow minded and emotional, injecting her own morality to these characters who live in a world that's established that NO ONE has morals like the average person irl. Its perfectly encapsulated when she for some reason started saying he somehow didn't "regret it" enough" like that was actually an insane thing to say lmao. His mom is a borderline vegetable, his dad died, and he lost a hand. I understand her perspective because she applying her normal morals and injecting herself like when she said "if i was Sylphie" that's the point lol, you're not Sylphie. She kept talking FOR different characters like she deep down knew all of them instead of understanding their potential perspectives. I dont agree with her criticisms of Roxy too 1. She knew him as a little kid so thats wrong, she only knew him for 2 years and didn't see him for like 8-10 years, and she didn't even recognize him at first, she thought it was some random ass man who just fits the description of her ideal man. She fell in love before she even knew that was Rudy. 2. Rudy being like 15 is like a non factor because in THIS WORLD that's an adults age lmao bro owns a house has a wife and is having a kid. 3. The idea that she only did it because she was horny and that she didn't even think about him etc etc, the thing is tho it DID make him feel better. The thoughts Rudy was having, like he easily could've fallen into a suicidal depression again. Hi I wanted to tell you that I really enjoy your videos and since you are done reacting to tadaima okaeri I would like to recommend you react to "Madoka magica" it's one of my favorite animes and it would be really cool to see you react to it.

The problem with mushoku tensei is I get what they're going at but it is as if It's written by someone who cannot write side characters and side characters especially. Outside of Rudy and Elinalise and Rudy and Paul no bond, relationship or even conversation feels organic in s2. The romamce is on the level of the star wars prequels... Roxy and Sylpie are terrible characters because they've been reduced to token love interest powerups for Rudy.

If you guys in here getting this mad now.... can't wait to see how you guys' heads will explode later. Refreshing to see not everybody hating on Rudy. Can't really blame the guy if we are being completely honest with ourselves. At LEAST he confessed to Roxy that he was married with a child on the way and said that romance couldn't be a thing between them. Paul never did that. Nobody knew about Paul's infidelity until the pregnancies were revealed, then they all did some math and found out that (1 + 1) + 1 = 2 ( it makes sense if you think about it ).

6:49 Hina’s definitely gonna be a little gremlin once she hits her brother’s age. 😂 Though on the topic, one of the few details from the manga that I wish they kept in the anime is the little floating subtitles that would sometimes appear around Hinata to show us what she’s thinking. They add some really sweet and really funny insight into how much she loves her family and hates whenever she’s left out of certain activities (such as when Hina threw a crying fit because she couldn’t enjoy cake with her Papa and Nii-nii).

I’m going to miss this story, I hope for more in the future but it was such a joy to watch! I love family oriented shows and the romance and everything was just so sweet TvT

Which is why it's great that Hikari and Hinata have Hiromu and Masaki as their parents! They can learn from both of them, and ideally be able to find that balance.

6:30 To be 100% fair, Rudy spent almost a week in that bedroom, wouldnt stand, wouldnt eat, so everyone including Roxy were already feeling like they couldnt just let him be for much longer or the boy may have starved himself to death. There were some in the group that believed he would be able to snap out of it on his own, Roxy didnt though, if he would be able to on his own, well, we will never know.

The interaction in the room in the LN plays out a lot differently, and Roxy didn't get up on him like that before doing the deed - she actually wasn't supposed to be the one to initiate it either. Roxy starts suggesting that he could do it with her, we get some narration from Rudeus, and then she starts to shift saying her body might not be adequate to him and maybe he could do it with someone else, and then he caves. Granted he's been eating almost nothing for 1-2 weeks and probably didn't have that much energy in him, but in his narration, Rudeus says he "violently" pushes her onto the bed and during the whole act was taking out his frustration on Roxy. The next morning when Rudeus wakes up, he thinks about how he just fucked up and how he's going to have to explain this to Sylphy, and how he was way too rough with Roxy. While Roxy did approach him with the intent, the anime makes it seem more one-sided, but in the novel the situation is a lot more of a mess. I can understand cutting certain things to be able to fit things into the limited time an episode has, but I can't agree with them changing things like this.

I enjoyed this BL. It's different. It doesn't just focus on romance but family and friends. It focuses on the growth of family and friends. Most importantly accepting yourself for who you are and knowing that your not alone.

Quik context from the novel: 1. Roxy wasn't taking advantage of the situation to sleep with Rudeus. To her, it would have been fine even if it was Elinalise or a hooker, which were both her sugestions at first to the party members after Elinalise herself sugested that Roxy should sleep with him. 2. She said it was okay for Rudeus to go all the way with her but she never initiated it in the novel. Rudeus was the one that agressivly shoved her onto the bed. It was not an ejoyable experince for either of them. 3. What made Rudeus recover was not the sex alone, it was a long conversation he had with Roxy in the next moring, which I won't spoil cuz they might show it as a flashback, but it's very important and it was what truly made Rudeus be able to move forward. He didn't recover just from sex alone. 4. Roxy later said that she "took advantage of him" so that he would feel less guilt, but as I said, their night together wasn't enoyable to her and she didn't plan on stealing him from his wife. She litterally gained nothing from it and just wanted to confort him somehow (she chose the only way Elinalise sugested out of desperation). Mind you, this all happend an entire month after Paul died with Rudeus locked in his room.

This was a fantastically hilarious reaction! I loved it so much! I'm so glad that you were very transparent with your disgust and uncomfortable feelings about this whole situation. It goes to show that certain situations and actions simply do not sit well with certain people. This is PERFECTLY OK! I can help clarify some things to help you better understand why Roxy's actions weren't as heinous as you may first believe from a psychological/situational standpoint. I'll be using mainly what happened here in the anime and a few little tidbits from the LN just to unravel the confusing wording they used here. TLDR: Roxy sacrificed herself as well as any possible future with Rudy just so he can get better and look forward to the future even if it paints her as the villain. (So you weren't wrong in feeling angry at Roxy. That was kinda~ her goal xD) Roxy admits later in the anime that she already knew that Rudy was married and with a child on the way because of the conversation she had with Elinelise, Geese, Talehand, and Lilia. So let's delve into that point and unravel why this wasn't as bad as it sounded. Everyone was worried about Rudy and his inability to leave his room for days, nearly weeks, with no sign of getting better. Roxy was extremely worried and asked everyone what they could do to help. Lots of ideas were tossed around, but none seemed to stick, so they begrudgingly came to the conclusion that everything would be fine since they believed Rudy was a strong person and would get over it eventually. Seeing as you really seem to know how a person who is suffering feels, you must also know that some people have a much harder time getting out of their funk than others. Similarly, that's when Roxy begins to remember how much trouble Rudy had getting over his mental struggles as a child and uses this reasoning to urge everyone to think of another way to help him. (I know that sounds weird to you, but it further emphasizes the blurry lines in which this world sees age. Back then when Rudy complimented her on her appearance, Roxy said that if he still feels the same way in 10 years, say it to her again. *Spoiler warning!* Lol xD) That's when the idea of having a women cheer him up came into play since, from their experience (they don't have any knowledge or facilities for mental health in this world), it usually helps when a man is feeling depressed or stressed. Roxy, being the virgin that she is, didn't understand what they meant right away. Then everyone else looked at Elinelise since this was her area of "expertise". She quickly turned down the idea, but Roxy asked "why?" If Elinelise knew of a way to help him why couldn't she use her knowledge to help Rudy? Well, that's because her way of helping someone was to have segs with them. Roxy was a little shocked, but given the severity of Rudy's situation she still asked Elinelise why she couldn't sleep with Rudy. Talehand suggested a brothel, but Geese interjected and said that Rudy wouldn't want to do it with someone he has no connection with. Awkwardly enough, Geese then suggest that Lilia be the one to make Rudy "feel better". Lilia just shot him an angry look and he swiftly gave up on that idea. So that's when Roxy asked Elinelise once more. Even though Roxy loved Rudy, she was willing to try any method possible to help him even if she wasn't the one doing it. That's when Elinelise dropped the bomb of Rudy's marriage and incoming child. That shocked Roxy like crazy. So you could imagine the countless of different emotions coursing through Roxy at this moment. She was suddenly in this "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. Very similar to Rudy when making the decision to go help save Zenith. If she does nothing, Rudy will become a hikikomori again, but if she does "it" she'll be hated by Rudy's family and possibly break up a happy relationship. So even though she loved him, she was feeling really conflicted. You also have to realize that NO ONE was going to help Rudy. They probably (especially Zenith) wouldn't have survived the journey back without him and his magic, so they needed to do something soon. That's when Roxy asks Elinelese for advice and so she helps Roxy come up with a plan/tips to help Rudy "cheer up". That's when Roxy makes up her mind to help Rudy. When Roxy first walks into the room we see her lock the door. I know it might've looked suspicious, but it demonstrated how incredibly determined she was in helping Rudy no matter what. Even if he yells, pushes her, tries to run away, or even she herself starts to waver, the locked door will help remind her of her resolve. We then see Roxy try some of the main methods to helping someone who's suffering through depression (not in any specific order): words of affirmation, understanding, encouragement, embracing/physical touch, change of topic (getting their mind off of what they're thinking of), and love/affection. Most of these which she had to learn from Elinelise because Roxy was such a noob at all of this stuff. When someone is clearly struggling with something mentally, you do EVERYTHING in your power to make sure they come out of that situation alive and mentally intact. Some people have varying mental capacities to help, but if yours is very high, then "doing your best" is what could save someone from complete mental annihilation. Roxy first begins with a distraction. A change of scenery is usually very helpful for those who have secluded themselves for a long period of time. Even if it's a walk down the hall or to the porch to get some sun, this can be enough. But this idea fails right away. (I could relate. I hate going out when I don't need to lol) The next thing she tries was to bridge the gap. Finding some kind of common ground or understanding goes a long way with someone who has their mind going 200/mph/km a minute. It helps bring a person back to reality and distracts them long enough to stop the endless cycle of negative thoughts. Granted, like you said, it doesn't always work with some people. It could come off as sounding annoying or preachy, but it's still a method commonly used for suicide attempts (I used to do this all of the time with my GF years ago by talking about pokemon, anime, my own hardships, or anything else that came to mind). Unfortunately Rudy is also not believing it. Roxy clearly doesn't know any of his triggers since she hasn't been around him long enough, but she still continues to try to bridge the gap and get him to understand that he's not alone in his struggles. Remember that sometimes when we get so caught up in our thoughts and are isolated for long periods of time, we forget that we are actually surrounded by people who care and love us. Unfortunately some of us are more stubborn than most, so that's why we end up seeing Rudy push away from this type of help too. He is relapsing to how he used to be in his old life where any type of help is no help. We saw in the Norn episode where no matter how much Rudy's brother tried to talk to him and help him (this was for months btw), Rudy would not budge. That should've cemented the fact that Rudy would do the same thing here. And that's NOT healthy or ok. He was on the verge of COMPLETELY reverting back to how he used to be. It was his "comfort" zone, so it wouldn't have been a challenging transition whatsoever. And even if they did manage to drag him back home, he would've been an empty husk by then. Then his newly born child would've had to deal with a mentally dead father, a helpless mother, and growing up not knowing what true love looked like. It would've ended up being a pure tragedy. (1/)

i absolutely love Mushoku Tensei because it's not afraid to show characters making terrible decisions

I feel that some people are unfairly demonizing Roxy after this episode and wish to offer a defense. 1) Roxy's goal was not sleeping with Rudy. As we see in the episode, Rudy was in a bad state. He shut himself away and wasn't eating. He wasn't listening to others. After all, as Roxy relates, the party was talking about him, not with him. The others decided to wait and see, but Roxy disagreed with that decision. She knows that Rudy is a lot weaker than he appears. That was the point of her flashback to little Rudy. She understood that he needed someone to help pull him up. And she is correct. We have seen that he usually needs the support of someone (Roxy, Soldat, Sylphie, ect) to rise out of his darker episodes. Sylphie wasn't available. And since they couldn't leave until Rudy was better, there was no way to reunite him with his wife. Thus Roxy resolved herself to be the one to save Rudy. When she goes to see him, she uses several tactics to try to reach him. And as each fails, she ups the ante. First she tries to get him to go outside with her. She is rejected. Next, she tries to empathize. He explodes. Then she hugs him. He is more receptive yet ultimately pulls away. It is only at the last when she uses her trump card that he responds positively. Had he been receptive to any of the earlier attempts things would not have escalated to where they did. Her priority was to help him and she wasn't going to stop until she succeeded. 2) Roxy did not take advantage of Rudy, part 1. First and foremost, at no point did he reject her advances. He did not push her away, pull away, or tell her to stop. Instead, he clasped her hand, signifying that he reciprocated. And just because one is grieving does not mean one cannot consent. It is normal for people to use sex as a means to deal with grief, stress and trauma. Whether that is healthy or not is a different topic. Let's not forget that Roxy is also grieving. Not only did she say as much, but recall that she spent six years looking for Rudy and his family. She volunteered her time and money to travel across the world for them. You don't do that unless you really care. Plus, she is desperately worried about Rudy's condition. So if Rudy is in a weakened mental state, then so is she. Just because she is expressing her grief differently doesn't mean it is not there. Again, her priority is helping Rudy, even if there are ulterior motives mixed in and her actions are mistaken. 3) Roxy did not take advantage of Rudy, part 2. Just because Roxy said she did, does not necessarily make it so. Look at what else she says. "You shouldn't blame yourself" and "It was my decision." What is she doing here? She is playing the villian. She is placing all blame for what they did on herself. It is giving Rudy an escape, an excuse. He doesn't need to feel guilty for cheating nor responsible for Roxy. She is punishing herself so Rudy doesn't punish himself. It is her way of being considerate. One might even call it selfless. 4) Sleeping with Rudy was the worst thing Roxy could have done. Yes and no. In this show, sex is an agent of change for Rudy. It is a source of both trauma (Eartheus, Eris, Sara) and healing (Sylpiette). So what are some of the results of their actions. On the positive side: it took the edge off of Rudy's depression and allowed the healing process to begin. For Roxy, she was able to help the one she loved and fulfill, if for a moment, her dream. Negative: it did not solve the core problem, guilt and confusion for Rudy, and heartbreak for Roxy. The thing about Mushoku Tensei is that nothing and no one is purely black or white. We have a bunch of flawed people doing the best they can with the resources available. There are no real right or wrong answers. Just choices and consequences. Like whether or not to go to Begaritt. Either way there may be regrets. This show is all about not dissimissing people for making mistakes. And understanding that people are more than the worst thing they have ever done. If you think Roxy was just being selfish, remember that people can have both altruistic and ulterior motives simultaneously. And for those who now find Roxy unforgivable, think about all the other "unforgivable" characters in this show. Hopefully, I was able to offer a different perspective.
